1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing, accessing, or using the "YouTube Usage Tracker" browser extension (the "Extension"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the Extension.

2. Description of the Extension

The Extension allows you to track your watch time on YouTube. Its features include:

• Tracking cumulative hours and minutes spent on YouTube.
• Providing a breakdown of time spent watching each channel.
• Storing all tracking data locally in your browser.
• Allowing you to export your watch history to a JSON file on your local disk.

3. Data, Privacy, and Security

This Extension is designed to be private and secure. Your privacy is our priority.

• 100% Local Storage: All data collected by the Extension, including your watch history and channel statistics, is stored exclusively on your local device using the browser's chrome.storage.local API.
• No Data Collection or Transmission: We do not collect, store, share, sell, or transmit any of your personal data, watch history, or statistics to any external servers, third-party services, or to the developer. All your information stays on your computer.
• User Control: You have complete control over your data. You can delete all locally stored data at any time by using the "Clear Data" button in the extension's popup. You can also export a copy of your data for your own use with the "Export Data" button.

4. Required Permissions

To function, the Extension requires specific permissions, as detailed in its manifest file. We are transparent about why these are needed:

• storage: Required to save your watch history and statistics locally in your browser's storage.
• tabs and host_permissions (for https://*.youtube.com/*): Required to detect when you are on a YouTube page, allowing the content script to monitor video playback and track watch time. The extension only runs on YouTube pages.
• downloads: Required only to enable the "Export Data" feature, which allows you to save a JSON file of your history to your computer's default downloads folder.
